Welcome to
Ontario's "Feel Good Town"!
In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Cobourg was the
favoured summer destination of many wealthy American industrialists.
The air was said to contain an "abnormal amount of ozone in the air
second only to the Alps in Switzerland" which was believed to be
highly beneficial.
Grand summer homes were built in Cobourg by our friends to the
south and many survive to this day. As a result, Cobourg has become
well-known for it's fine examples of Victorian and Georgian
architecture.
Today, Cobourg is the seat of government for Northumberland
County. Strategically situated on Highway 401 and the
Windsor-Montreal rail corridor, Cobourg is the home to many national
and multi-national companies.
With a growing of 18,000 citizens, Cobourg is a thriving and
dynamic place to visit, live, work and raise a family.
