What a weekend we had. Despite monsoon-like rain early Friday afternoon, the crowds came out Friday night, Saturday and Sunday enmass for the 10th Annual Northumberland Ribfest presented by the Rotary Club of Cobourg. On Sunday, Eagles tribute band, Hotel California, took us back to the 70's and 80's with a great concert. All weekend long our entertainers, ribbers and vendors pleased the crowds.

"Thank-you" to all of our sponsors, especially Mill Street Brewery, Wines of Chile and Praxair. We wouldn't be able to put on such a great event without the help of our sponsors, volunteers, Rotarians and their families.

And what would Ribfest be without our Master of Ceremonies, York Bell-Smith. York was with us all weekend long, keeping things moving. If you've ever seen York in action at Ribfest, you'll know why the event is dubbed Yorkfest. Thanks York!

Join us in Cobourg's beautiful Victoria Park August 19th to 21st for the 2016 Northumberland Ribfest. This will be our eleventh annual event. Planning is already underway and we're working hard to make it the best ever.

Admission is free to Victoria Park for the weekend so bring the whole family (unfortunately pets are not allowed). Check out the great line-up of entertainers we had in 2015 at the historic Victoria Park Band Shell. It's a great way to entertain family and friends for an hour, a day or the whole weekend.

This event is a fundraiser to help the Rotary Club of Cobourg support worthy causes at home and abroad. A few of the contributions we have made in the past include:

$800,000 commitment to the Northumberland Hills Hospital
$300,000 commitment to the Cobourg Community Centre
Ongoing development of Cobourg Heritage harbour
Literacy projects at home and abroad
Clean water projects
Polio eradication

Our August Ribfest weekend is one of three major fund raising activities the Club undertakes. In February we hold our Annual Sportsman's Night Dinner & Auction and every Canada Day Weekend we host our Rotary Arts & Crafts Festival as part of the Cobourg Waterfront Festival.
